This registration roadmap is your guide to register for classes for the first time at the University of Oregon. If you follow the registration roadmap, you will have a smooth registration ride with few obstacles along the way. If you have any questions, please contact International Student & Scholar Services at intl@uoregon.edu.
Pre-Arrival Checklist
- Start by completing the Pre-Arrival Checklist.
- At a minimum you must complete the following steps on the Pre-Arrival Checklist in order to be eligible to register for classes:
- Claim your Duck ID
- Set up UO mail account on laptop and phone
- Register for orientation
Initial Advising Appointment
The first time you register for classes on DuckWeb you will need your:
- Student ID Number (UO ID) that starts with 95
- Personal Access Code (PAC) which was sent from Admissions
- First-time UO undergraduates must schedule a remote advising appointment with an academic advisor before you can register for classes
Once you complete the steps above, you will receive an email from your academic advising home to schedule an initial advising appointment. An advising appointment is required before you can register for fall term classes. You may be instructed to complete one or more academic placement exams and an advising module during your initial advising appointment.
Registration Hold
There is an initial registration hold for the Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine:
- You will be blocked from registering for UO classes until you submit evidence of having received the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine. Do not wait to submit the MMR vaccine proof so that the registration hold on your account can be removed.
- All other vaccines can be submitted up until the start of the term and do not have a registration hold.
Registration Dates
- Transfer, Exchange & Visiting Students: Registration opens in June
- First Year (Freshman) Students: Registration opens in early July
Enrollment Policy for International Students
International undergraduate students must register for a minimum of 12 credits (approx. 3 classes). At least 8 credits must be for in-person or hybrid classes. Hybrid classes can be remote or online but have an in-person component like a lab, discussion group or in-person exam policy.
