I-20 Program Extension

F-1 students must not let the I-20 program end date expire if you have not completed all your degree requirements to graduate.

  1. Consult with an Academic Advisor

Before you request an extension of your I-20 program end date, please consult with an academic or faculty advisor to review your degree audit and verify how many credits you have remaining to graduate. You will need to provide the name and email address for the academic or faculty advisor on the I-20 Extension Request e-form.

  2. Submit Request

Login to iConnect (international student portal) and submit the I-20 Extension Request e-form at least 2 weeks before your I-20 expires. Failure to request an extension before the I-20 program end date expires will result in the termination of your I-20. You will then be required to take immediate action to regain legal F1 status which will cost you time and money.
