Nomination Procedure

Academic departments or units are responsible for nominating students for the OIA Global Corners award. Departments are responsible for collaborating internally, and consulting with appropriate administrators, when identifying and nominating potentially qualified students.

The submission process requires the following steps:

  • To nominate a student for consideration, the academic department must download a Global Corners Nomination Packet and submit the required materials, including a Nomination Form and Nomination Statement, for each nominated student by the deadline indicated below. 
  • The department must inform the international student that he/she has been nominated for a Global Corners award. The department must then direct the student to complete the on-line Financial Resources Questionnaire form. 


Nomination Deadline: February 16, 2018
Decision Announcements: by early Spring quarter

Decision and Selection

Nominations will be evaluated by an OIA/Faculty/Staff committee. OIA will also communicate with the Registrar and department budget managers to ensure that tuition credits are reflected in a correct and timely manner in each selected student’s billing account.
